I’ve been waiting for this moment for so long now it doesn’t even make sense. Dragon Age Origins managed to get SO high in my PC-RPG catalog that the only thing I could think about when I finished it several times wasHow long before a sequel?? The game is coming out soon, but EA released a demo, a shiny new demo that tried to put down this fury!! Sodid they succeeded? Come on in and find out! GRAPHICS & SOUNDEeeeshhhh.well the graphics are not that hot, I mean they’re basically the same graphics that Dragon Age Origins used, slightly enhanced. This is not a bad thing but you know what’s the usual word around when you talk about a sequel that uses basically the same engine as it’s predecessorThey could do better. The voice acting works great as usual, the characters that appeared in the demowell they’re all the biggest clichés ever but it’s kind of this game’s thing. So, basically it all works great in this section. I’ve tried the demo in a Phenom X3 720 Overclocked up to 3.4ghz with a ATI HD5770 HAWK edition overclocked as well with 4 Gigs of DDr3 (1600) RAM and it worked great for me. My computer is not top notch or anything close to it, but it managed to run it at full detail 19201080. STORYThe game introduces us to the story with cutscenes, quick cuts, camera changes, shadows, mysterious characters and lots of mystery! A shaved and extremely careful about his aspect dwarf being interrogated by some sort of paladin with short nerves is the introduction card of the game, some sort of story she asks and some sort of story he gives her. Remembrances of a powerful warrior fighting the dark spawn hordes once again, another blight? A new blight? How can this be? The hordes fell upon the might of this hero, but then when everything seems lost a Dragon shows, could it be another Overlord? Another leader for the wicked to succeed? BULLSHIT the paladin says, she wants the true story, the story of the champion when the dwarf first met him, before he was the champion! And so the game carries away with the rest of the demo, our character escaping the village, fighting the dark spawn, with several cutscenes some characters will be introduced. A brave barbarian, battleforge trainers, a bounty hunter dwarf, a pirate even! The demo is filled with mystery, action, bravery, and explosions, battleforge card upgrades!

Doesnt Look so different does it?
Ok enough with the tale telling, remember how the first game was like Baldur’s Gate in some aspects, classic strategic RPG? Well this one is more like Devil May Cry with dark spawns in it. I mean this thing is FAST PACED if you picked a rogue or warrior to play. You’ll be seeing a lot of cool maneuvers, sword swinging, backflips roundhouse kicks and what not, this is a display of awesomeness and dark spawn slaughtering! GAMEPLAY:It didn’t change so much in terms of mechanics. I mean the point and clicking moving the character around with the WASD still works, the quick power bar is still on top and it’s still operable with the number buttons. Everything pretty much remains the samesowhere are the big changes?? It’s all about the displaysthe character will now cruise around the screen kicking so much ass you’ll be afraid to watch. I mean he’ll literally run around slicing, kicking, chopping and throwing flasks or magic. Trust me on this one sometimes you’ll be like C’moooon dude give them a chance! Oh! and the mage is awesome! I mean they improved the animation for the simple attack (remember the little bolts of magic from your wand) now it’s like Staff Kata (Equilibrium reference, if you didn’t see it, do so) and it’s AWESOME to watch. The spells still are extremely imbalanced and being a mage you control the entire battlefield.Moving onto the mechanics the Level up system has been upgraded and now it’s more fun and easy to optimize. The ability branches are much more appealing in a aesthetic way and the point allocation is easier to understand and master. There’s still a lot we don’t know about this game. Many options locked, the inventory, the character creation and customization and over 80% of the power grid was locked. So there are many things to cover. But so far, the game is interesting to say the least, it’s different than his predecessor that’s for sure and we can’t wait to see the final version of it.Related Article:
