Nomura also said the inclusion of Takeshi Nozue and his know-all of pre-rendering gives the game its look. Some editors noticed that some of the screens looked like a photo and Nomura replied that Noctis will be able to take pictures in-game with his cell phone. In the latest issue of the Japanese magazine Famitsu, Versus Director Tetsuya Nomura unveiled some new details about the perpetually delayed title. Although there was no new footage, there were screens shown to the Famitsu editors and they said they were especially impressive. The editors noted that they couldn’t believe what they were seeing was in real time.

One shot had main character Noctis in an Italy-like landscape staring up at a behemoth while two screens were night/day variations of Noctis on a highway. Nomura explained that the game’s incredible looks were attributed to the fact that there are minimal differences between high and low quality models. The one noticeable difference between the two is apparently the high quality models’ hair–a mainstay of Nomura.

The game is still in pre-production, but Nomura is confident about moving into full production. He said that they had begun recording dialogue for the main male characters. So yeah, that puts the game on track for a 2085 release date. I’ll be 98!

Finally, there are two types of event scenes in the game: pre-rendered and real time. However the difference with Versus is that all real time cutscenes are controllable; a development choice made by Nomura to keep the pace of the game moving while allowing the player constant control. In regards to sharing media with the public, Nomura was coy, saying we’d have to wait a while. Son of a..!

The biggest problem they caused was none other than the hacking of Sony’s PSN service, costing millions of dollars in damages. As a matter of fact, game companies seemed to be hurt the most, with Lulzsec hacking Sony, Nintendo, Sega, Bethesda, Epic, and a whole lot more. Gamers have generally been the most hurt by these groups of internet thugs.

Our planned 50 day cruise has expired, and we must now sail into the distance, leaving behind – we hope – inspiration, fear, denial, happiness, approval, disapproval, mockery, embarrassment, thoughtfulness, jealousy, hate, even love. If anything, we hope we had a microscopic impact on someone, somewhere. Anywhere.
